"Stop there, show your faces." "What is the purpose of your mercy in the Town and Court?" The guards who protected one of the gates to the capital of Spain had to keep a close eye on who was entering the city. Many of them didn't even have time to draw their weapons before... Boom. Pam. Dead! With a shot of the arquebus. That's how the criminals were dealt with by the guards of the entrances to Madrid. The old gate gave way over time to the current Plaza de Puerta Cerrada, the starting point for our tour.

From Puerta Cerrada we'll go to the nearby Plaza Mayor in Madrid, where we'll tell you a strange story about a decapitated man and his hat. Very close by is the beautiful Plaza de la Villa, home to Madrid's old town hall. By the way, if you look closely at the shield that represents the city we'll see a dragon. What is its origin? We'll find out!

The walk will continue along Sacramento Street, where we'll reveal the secret of a knight and his beautiful lover, a story with a tragic ending. We'll pass by the Ramales square to talk about a famous painter of the 17th century and his mysterious disappearance. We'll continue the walk in the vicinity of the Almudena Cathedral, where we'll tell you about the origins of this legend that dates back to the 9th century. At the foot of the majestic Royal Palace we'll talk about its construction, its famous architect and his unfortunate end, and the dark legend that has haunted the kings ever since.

Lastly, we'll continue along the Plaza de Oriente until we reach the Convento de la Encarnación to tell you all about a very special Saint.

To finish, we'll travel back in time to the Spanish Inquisition where we'll unveil a story for you as an interesting end to the tour.
